When it comes to exploring this world, Lahore often doesn’t appear on the avid travellers list however here at Royal Travel we find this particularly difficult to understand. Below we have put together a list of reasons why you should give Lahore some serious thought when booking your next trip.
From the 14th Century onwards, Central Asia was a hotbed of plot twists and turns and historical stories which are worthy of any keen traveller binging on. The royal life of the architectural metropolis of Lahore can best be experience by visiting the Badshahi Mosque, and the Lahore Fort. The beauty and magnificence of both are difficult to describe for those who are yet to visit, but a look into the magnificent opulence of the history of both Lahore and indeed Pakistan as a whole, are fantastically portrayed through its architecture.
Food is something which will set your sense free in Lahore. Largely locally sourced meals are the norm in Pakistan and Lahore is no different, you’ll find meats which melt in the mouth and curried dishes which are less thick than the Indian counterparts. With spices and flavours which can only be experienced while in Pakistan, you are sure to be amazed by the variance in fantastic meals in Lahore. For the best experience you simply can’t ignore the street food and there are several restaurants which offer fantastic views of the city.
The walled-city of Lahore rather interestingly contains 13 ancient gates, some of which are replacements as only one survived after the British de-fortification of the city itself. The gates each have a purpose for example, the Roshnai Gate which is used as the Royal entrance to the city, and the Delhi Gate which was originally viewed as the only entrance to the city from Delhi. Our advice would be to let the spirit of the traveller take over and wander through the maze-like streets, past markets and historical monuments to fully immerse yourself in the cultural mysticism of Lahore.
At Royal Travel Lahore is one of our most popular destinations and we are on hand 24 hours a day to give you advice based on everything from booking your trip, to where to stay and explore.
